The World's Best Brownies
This brownie recipe has been a lockdown baking staple of mine. These brownies are the perfect dessert, serve them warm with vanilla ice cream or even a berry sorbet and they will go down an absolute treat!
Makes 16 servings.
You will need:
100g of dark chocolate
150g of milk chocolate
1tbsp of cocoa powder
65g of plain flour
250g of unsalted butter
1tsp of baking powder
360g caster sugar
4 eggs
Glass bowl
Baking tray (preferably 25cm by 25cm)
How to:
Pre heat your oven to 175 degrees centigrade.
First, in a glass bowl break up the chocolate into squares and add the butter. Melt these ingredients by carefully placing the glass bowl over a pan of boiling water. This part may take a little while, so it can be left on low until the chocolate and butter have fully melted.
In a separate mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder.
Once the chocolate mixture is ready, pour it into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix throughly.
As soon as the mixture is combined, make a "well" in the centred and crack in the eggs, folding them in until the mixture has a silky consistency.
Lastly, grease the brownie tray with butter and pour in the mixture. Bake the brownies for about 30-35mins, however always test the centre with a skewer. You want the brownies to be gooey, so don't be afraid to take them out!
