Here it goes! My first ever "Monthly Favourites" blog post, I am so excited to start sharing all the little things in my life that bring that extra bit of joy. Each and every month will look different and I hope you discover something that you never knew existed. This month marks half way through the year 2020! This seems absurd, considering we have spent most of it sat at home, chocolate in hand and Netflix series at the ready. However, this has also been a prime opportunity for me to completely empty my bank account, whilst discovering new and exciting products along the way. So as always, grab a tea, settle down and read on.
Starting things off with my new found love of the brand WhiteFox Boutique. The two items I have worn religiously throughout June, have been their Butterfly Effect T-shirt and Double or Nothing hoodie. I am always on the hunt for the perfect hoodie, they are an absolute staple in my wardrobe. As soon as I explored their loungewear, I knew I was going to find what I needed. This hoodie is styled oversized, but not so much that you look like you're wearing a bin bag... we've all been there! The fabric is so soft and feels very luxurious, adding to the overall quality of the hoodie. The petrol colour was something slightly different for me, but looks great with both black and blue denim and looks exactly as it was photographed on the website. As someone who is constantly cold, this purchase was one I definitely did not regret. So, I must have been back on that website within a week, my boyfriend would argue that it was within 24hrs and they had released their new oversized Tees. Already being eager to jump on the tie die band-wagon this month, this T-shirt landed straight in my basket. Again, the quality is amazing and the colour is really bright and vivid, with turquoise detailing, contrasting the pink perfectly. Be warned though, that these are a real treat if you are living in the UK, as I did get stung twice for import duties.

Kerastase shampoo and conditioner
Next up is hair care. This month I finished my Kerastase Resistance Bain shampoo and conditioner. My hair is thin and very prone to breakages, which means I often find controlling fly aways and split ends a nightmare! But, the combination of these means that my freshly washed hair now feels silky smooth, rather than frizzy and dry. These products are on the pricey side, but they have now lasted me 6 months, whilst washing my hair, approx 2 times a week. I would say, if you struggle to find products that get along with your hair then these are worth the investment.
Face Silk makeup removal pads
Now, I have to give a shoutout to my mum for this one. Initially, I was sceptical as she told me that they worked on the premise that you only needed to use water and they would take my makeup straight off. She wasn't wrong! These pads save me so much time and effort. One part of wearing makeup that I despise, is removing it late at night, when all I want to do is cuddle up in my bed. But these make the process so much easier and quicker. The fabric is also super soft and gentle on my skin, which is so important for me because my skin is soooo sensitive.
NARS Velvet Lip Glide
Day to day, I am not particularly adventurous with my make-up choices, I know my 'go to' products and stick to these. Recently, I was in the market for a new nude everyday lipstick and came across this one from NARS in the colour "stripped."
I adore how this product gives you the same look as a liquid lipstick, but without the heavy cake feeling that you sometimes get. It can be worn all day without creasing and the colour is the perfect nude for my pale skin tone.
PhD Smart Protein
As an absolute foodie, I had to throw you something food related in this favourites! It has been a long time coming for me to find the tastiest, most versatile and affordable protein powder, but I've only gone and done it. I get the chocolate brownie flavour and it is so rich, it tastes like such a treat for only 114kcal per serving. In particular, this powder is brilliant for cooking with, I often find that with other powders my protein pancakes end up like a bouncy ball, but not with this one! Also, top tip do not buy this at full price, PhD always have discounts and sales on, so just keep your eyes peeled.
The Health Code podcast
This podcast was a relatively recent discovery for me, hosted by a young couple it provides me with a lot of laugh out loud moments. I have always followed these two on their social media platforms, but hadn't really been a podcast kind of girl before. Well it's safe to say I am a convert. Their "weekly raps" are hilarious and the content surrounding the topic of conversation is really useful and informative. This has kept me sane going on my fifth daily walk of the day and is genuinely a great listen.
